The bug bites located on my arm that are photographed above, are the result of getting bitten by a mosquito. The mosquito had taken my blood, and in return, injected her saliva into my arm. Although they are pests, mosquitoes are not technically parasites. However, they harbor the protozoans that carry malaria. The parasites live in the salivary glands of the mosquitoes and are released when the mosquito bites something.
