The photograph above consists of the trunk to a tree, also referred to as a Woody Stem. Unlike the herbaceous stem, the woody stem is harder in structure, made out of wood, and has some sort of bark exterior covering. Woody stem plants include trees, bushes, and shrubs. Woody stems are able to survive year round and make up most of the worlds tallest and largest plants.
