The photo above is of a pine tree, also known as a Gymnosperm. As previously stated, the term "gymnosperm" directly translates to mean "naked-seen", hence the name. Gymnosperms produce leaves like other plants, but they are coniferous, meaning they are able to withstand extreme weather conditions and last all year long. The leaves of gymnosperms are generally thick, durable, and somewhat pointed.
